Comet Killer

Here is my entry for July's game coding competition :)

Download :

Version 1.2 2017-08-19 - compiled with the latest AGK version to fix the full screen sync bug

Mac Download
Windows Download
Linux Download

Version 1.1 2017-07-30 - fixes comets which are moving slow out of visual view

Mac Download
Windows Download
Linux Download

* Linux version only tested in Ubuntu and requires the OpenAL library to be installed. Terminal > sudo apt-get install libopenal1

Requirements :

So long as your monitor supports 1920x1080 resolution then all should be OK. I don't know what happens if your resolution is below that.

About :

Everything done by me apart from the background images ( free to use of the web as far as I'm aware ) and the sound effects are just from the AGK sound library.

At least i got to finally have a very quick play with the East West Orchestra stuff I bought months ago, yay!.

Keys :

S to start the game or click on Start
ESC will exit the game from the main menu
ESC will pause the game when playing
Arrow keys to move
Space bar to fire ( can be held in for continual firing )

I got to level 8, the controls felt pretty good! My only problem was the comets would sometimes stop moving and be somewhere off screen, being difficult to find and shoot..

I know :( - I'll hopefully get time today / tomorrow to fix this before the comp closes and upload a new version. I wasn't sure if I'd get the time today to do it so wanted to get the game uploaded :D

Verrry polished Qube, love the 3D style - I didn't even manage to get a splash screen at the start of mine, great work ;)

Thanks for the kind words :)

I could have done with taking a weeks holiday to add all the bits in I wanted to add in ( plans were running wild in my head ). I don't get much time to spend on my own stuff these days but pushing myself to spend a few hours here and there over the last month to do this has been highly enjoyable.

From this day forth I will make time to code for fun. Be damned real world!, be damned!.
