You can download a list of words to use in a word based game (Scrabble, Hangman, Boggle, etc...)

Is there such a list for trivia?  A list of questions and multiple choice answers that I can just plug into a game so I don't need to spend time creating my own?

Yeah, I saw that after posting here.  I do have a couple of issues though.  One, the poster says he collected the trivia from several different sites without mentioning which sites they came from, so there might be copyright issues.  Two, these are questions with a single answer, where I would like multiple choice version.

If you search Google for the first question, you'll find the set appears to be used in many different places.

That is closer to what I want.  Problem with this list is, I found several questions copied word for word from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.  The rest are probably copied from other copyrighted games as well.

I did find a couple of places licensing lists, but they want minimum $35 per category.  So to create a trivia game with multiple categories could easily cost $200+.  Actually not bad if you are creating a commercial game that you know will make money, but for a small project, that is a lot.

Can you copyright a question? even if you can surely all you would need to do is slightly reword the questions and then they would be fine to use.
I would assume you would want to check the validity of the questions anyway as they might not all be correct so it would still take some effort anyway.
