hi 🙂

just wondering what's your perspective on that :
with AI there will be so much more illustrations, movies, games, books, created, that we will all get overwhelmed and bored.

sure i appreciate to talk with chatgpt to get some informations, or to improve my understanding of a foreign langage, and also to generate some custom illustrations.

but then what ? AI seems to not have very specialized knowledge / know how, and all this generation of similar content is pointless, don't you think ?

nowadays some people seem to prefer their smartphones and virtual friends than to interact with real humans.
crazy world... ???

Well I think currently people still value the human aspect involved in creating art.
When you look at somebody just posting AI pictures you know it took them absolutely nothing to do and so it's instantly devalued.

In some ways it's almost insulting because it's the height of laziness.
When we see these things in advertising for example it's almost offensive because it feels like an attack on our intelligence and discernment.

If you look at my conflict 3049 thread you see that I experimented with ai to enhance one of the screenshots which lead me to think "can I edit my shader code to produce a similar result" so it can be useful to explore ideas.

what is missing in AI to generate graphics, like images, imo, is for the user to be able to define areas (on x axis and on y axis) and layers (on z axis), and a graphics style (photo, drawing, cartoon, etc...) , and then have the AI fill each area / layer with the described informations.

in this way there will be a more custom made touch to each image, and the result will really represent the imagination of the user (to illustrate a story, a game, a book, etc...)

I don't really fund Adobe products because I disagree with them on software ownership models but I believe you can select parts of an image now and prompt it to modify them.

I've yet to see anything at all out of AI that's useable apart from simple code examples and static images, usually with misspelt wording in the background. And the tools to create them won't let you use any words it doesn't like so it kind of feels that it's become woke already, before it's even started. I asked it to draw an indian guy clawing money into his pockets from a desk as a joke for my friend, who is actually indian. It told me in no uncertain terms that I can't ask for an image like that.

I do love the AI previews with 1950s asthetics.
