"Windows (OS) is dead"
« on: December 23, 2017, 09:56:17 »
I remember having read this statement by JoshK on the old blitzbasic forum, a few years ago.

Take a look how dead it is :
http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/
apparently :
98.33% use a version of Windows OS (xp, vista, 7, 8, 10)
1.35% use a version of Mac/OSX OS
0.27% use a version of Linux OS

ahahah :-*

also take a look at the "language" (written/spoken) section, and be surprised (or not) about who is using the steam store...

Ha! Win-7 tops the charts at 70%.  Windows 10 can eat a d***!  Gamers don't like spyware baked into their OS.

it is not "spyware", when microsoft/apple/google do such things, it is for your security, when independant developpers do such things, it is malicious  ;)

If you ever hear a corporation or a government agency say "It's for your security" or "It's for the children" grab your wallet firmly and head for the hills.

The information gathered is incredibly helpful to us as we make decisions about what kinds of technology investments to make and products asset flipping shite to offer.

^Thats how I read it anyway

I think the same stuff is embedded in win7 nowadays also, so doesn't make a difference.

Don't know about rest of the world but in the Netherlands most people grabbed the Win10 offer to make their illegal Win versions legal.  :D

Yep, so you might as well stop worrying about it and use the latest version.  Plus you can turn that stuff off anyway.

Back on topic, Windows will never disappear, it's market share is so large.

Clearly, similiar to Nintendo, Apple's huge success with movile systems, the iPhone, it has made them famous for handheld devices rather than desktop devices.
