Video on Minimum Viable Game building

Hey,

I kinda enjoyed the latest video by Tim Ruswick (Game Dev Underground) for building and explaining the term "vertical slice" and a minimum viable product/game. I wanted to share it here and recommend it to all my fellow solo devs out there :)

I have seen the image with the car being used a lot for explaining MVP, but the vertical slice/pyramid image was new to me (and I had an aha moment seeing it on screen). Hope you enjoy it, too! What are your experiences in this regard? Do you agree?

This interesting and well worth 11 mins of your time to watch. The skateboard and pyramid illustrations really make you think about how many times you've gone wrong when making a new game.

I think I lasted about 5-6 minutes too...

The general concept of make it small, make it work then grow what works is 10/10. but it took about 10 seconds to write it and read it. The rest is just him spouting guff aaannndddd sstttrrreettcchhiinngg tttthhiiinngggss oouuutttt.

Even his visuals looked like a 1980's pyramid scheme... hehehehe
