First off, thanks very much to the members who have currently joined and helping towards creating this community * round of applause *

My long term aim for this site is to mould it into shape overtime. There will be changes and additions over the coming days / weeks / months until things are just right and if ever required I'll write our own custom forum software should SMF not fit our needs.

In due time moderators will be appointed. These will be selected by the community ( details to follow in good time ).

Most importantly and the point to this post... If members have any site suggestions and improvements then please post them here :)
Mac Studio M1 Max ( 10 core CPU - 24 core GPU ), 32GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD,
Beelink SER7 Mini Gaming PC, Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-Core 16-Thread 5.1GHz Processor, 32G DDR5 RAM 1T PCIe 4.0 SSD
MSI MEG 342C 34" QD-OLED Monitor

Until the next time.

Suggestions....mmh

You will get the gallery going, that would be one.
Besides that I actually fine right now.

Like I wrote in another thread, my "wishlist":

- embedded Youtube videos
- embed external images with an automatic thumb/resize option (for bb.com I always had to create a thumbnail first, upload both images to my server and "code" the post with nested tags to make the thumb open the large remote image on mouseclick, nasty)
- a more TinyMCE-like editor like in Wordpress would be perfect (I think we don't need a marquee button, heh)

But in general the board is ok and usable right now.
Kind regards

I would like to see some kind code archives in the near future.  The ones over bb.com would have kept growing imo.
It might be less than easy to use this kind of forum structure though, especially if it were to include all of the other languages besides blitzy stuff.
But I really liked how all the code was separated so you didn't have audio stuff mixed in with gui stuff etc.

Qube: Could you add a Modules sub-forum under the Monkey section please? I would like to add my Monkey-X modules there.

Kryzon

Hi, I suggest merging the 2D and 3D forums into the same "Graphics & Tools" or something forum, just for simplification.

Done.

Renamed to "2D & 3D" for now. See how it's used and change if needed.

I agree. It needs some thought how best to set it all up.

lol, yes I will look at that tonight or tomorrow.

Will add in.

Nice idea, will look into it.

Isn't there enough tools already when you click on Reply?

Gallery now up and running :)

I've added two basic categories for now and no doubt it will need a few others?

Yep a merged 2D and 3D Graphics Category simply called 'Graphics' to go with 'Sound & Music'.

Having a dark background and light 'content area' is a bit hard on the eyes, so darken that area.

Oh, I forgot a special wish on my wishlist I've added to my Wordpress Blog: Crayon Syntax Hightlighting of Source Code:

http://www.extrasolar.de/index.php/2016/05/16/crayon-syntax-highlighter-blitzbasic-addon/

My Blitzbasic parsing is not perfect but the readability of the source is greatly improved by this. But it needs a very skilled PHP programmer to add this to the board, I fear (but can be configured to support many different languages).
Kind regards

Awesome, it works. Thank you. I have a question regarding the keywords. How do you seperate several Keywords? Space, Comma?
Do you plan on displaying random gallery images maybe on the side or the top of the forum (if possible)?

Kryzon

When I click a thumbnail of an attached image in posts, the image grows to its native size but is cropped at the width of the content area.
If possible, make the image grow into a scrolling area.

---- I tried inspecting it:

<div class="I ADDED THIS" style="overflow:scroll;">
<a href="http://www.syntaxbomb.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=34.0;attach=25;image" id="link_24" onclick="return expandThumb(24);">
<img src="http://www.syntaxbomb.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=34.0;attach=24;image" alt="" id="thumb_24">
</a>
</div>

Adding a Div with that overflow:scroll style to each attached image seems to work.

The page code is from this thread:

Naughty Alien

is it possible to have part of forum dedicated for hardware programming (Arduino, PIC's and so on), tools for it and stuff like that ??

Suggestion:  Increase the number of entries in the RSS feed from 5 to... 25, maybe?

Also, I have it bookmarked so I go straight to "Unread Posts".  Is it possible to have a "Mark all posts as read" button somewhere convenient so that once I've picked the eyes out of what I want to read it can 'clean' the others out of that view?  No biggie if not, but I'm just trying to think of "Things Other Forums I Go To Have That I Use". Nothing like posting about something to finally find it.  Blind, me.

Good question, I don't know :P - Random images wise, we'll be getting a landing page in good time similar to the homepage of the bb forums where news and other stuff will go.

Looks cool, will look into it.

Anything is possible :) Best to post in the "others" section http://www.syntaxbomb.com/index.php/board,11.0.html and if it becomes popular then it's easy enough to add a dedicated forum for it.
