This is your 2 week warning folks. 10th May is endgame.

Who's going to make it? Who thinks they are going to make it? And who is throwing in the towel already?

Pretty sure there's a few people who've said they're doing something for this competition and we've heard nothing since. Let's have some updates guys.

I still think I'm going to make it, even though I switched projects after 3-4 weeks. I'm working on something based on the first competition on Syntax Bomb, which was Asteroids. Hoping to make something that stands up against the games that were submitted for that but I'm deliberately not trying to reboot any of them. I've not even replayed any of them prior to starting Validius.

I've got a couple of W.I.P video's up on my you tube but they're already out of date now. Hoping to stick a few more up as I get closer to completion.

I'm still in, though I had to make a few changes. I wanted to add full motion cutscenes but had to resort to dang static images.
It should be enough to convey the story. all I need to do now is the distribution art and it's done.
It's a thing that doe's when it don't..

Well throughout the competition time I've been working on my main project more and more, so much less time for an entry.

So I'll reboot the very first competition (Asteroids) instead of my initial idea, and at least get an entry in this time.  I've never written a vector graphics game before so this was a fun second project.

Brief info about your game
About a week earlier than the competition began I decided to remake one of my games (The Young Prince).  As a result I'm entering my entry submission 1 week early.
The game itself:
Warlock is a fairly light action rpg with an overland map and dungeons with monsters and traps and treasure.
The dungeon and overland map are procedurally generated.
The overland map uses the same seed for all users so that they all experience the same town names, places and so forth.
It also includes a loosely described multiplayer experience in that when users are on the overland map at the same time they can see each other move about on the map but cannot interact with them.
Any screen shots or video's
Here is a development log page showing progress from beginning to completion on my webpage:
https://www.mattiesgames.com/devlogwarlock.php
Media information ( If using free / purchased media then please state where you obtained said media. )
Graphics were all handdrawn in paint.net with a wacom tablet.
(Specifically:for creatures an underlying base humanoid shape I drew was painted over numerous times to draw each different monster/creature)
Music was obtained from soundimage.org by an artist Eric Matyas.
Sound FX were obtained from a CD I owned from 2004 from the Game Creators (Indie SFX Fantasy/Dungeon)
Font was obtained a long time ago - unsure of origin at this point in time.

Source code attached for those interested - Javascript(html5).

While the game runs online - it can be run offline simply by downloading and unzipping this file and running the index.html in your own browser locally:

Haha, I'm very focused indeed on my little language project Stevie, but Vulkan is a bit of a pain in the arse.   ;D

Hi...

There are three finished entries now. Good. Is your entry a Blitz3D game again?
:)

only 2 game so far: the 'fireball dungeon' game is invalid - didn't read the competition.

If we were being pedantic about it, The amount of assets used/flipped would also send my spidery senses tingling...

Trial Dungeon does not comply with one rule in the contest? Thanks for telling me. ???

If Qube can confirm this, the author of Trial Dungeon may still have enough time(six days) to modify the current entry and submit the modified entry. :)

iWasAdam

OK, I'm going to retract the previous comment. Game does infact comply with the rules. I'm jumping the gun here  :o

Well done guys and a few days left yet, plus some controversy shenanigans lol.
