I have a design I've mapped out over last couple of days. Unsure if I could get it done in 7 weeks though. I'll probably go at it in a few days and see how much progress I make in four weeks. If I think I can get it over the line then I'll consider myself competing again this time.

It seems like it's going to be another slow one. I have most of my game 'set and done' but due it
being Sprite based and pretty raw it's going to take while. Hopefully I can get it completed.

Looks sweet 8)

Don't know if this will be a low entry comp too but if it is then I doubt we'll have as many in future. See how it goes :)
Mac Studio M1 Max ( 10 core CPU - 24 core GPU ), 32GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD,
Beelink SER7 Mini Gaming PC, Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-Core 16-Thread 5.1GHz Processor, 32G DDR5 RAM 1T PCIe 4.0 SSD
MSI MEG 342C 34" QD-OLED Monitor

Until the next time.

@Qube, it is not Quantity, but Quality (Says me..... )   :0)

I don't reckon a 6-month long compo would help me as I'm a horrendous last minute .com hobby coder these days.

Despite that.... need to go and work on the script form my next entre'

Can't beat some coding fun to while away the dark knights  ;D

I'm still in the ideas phase but I'm sure I'll come up with something for this one. Smaller and simpler I think.

Script for Scene 4 drafted.... Still not sure I'll embark on the genre I'm considering. Food for thought though.

I think smaller and simpler is a good goal to aim for. That way if you have time you can always expand out or just polish and fine tune. Time has a nasty habit of running out :))

True, I plan on keeping it reasonably simple.

Yup, my features list is shrinking, but that's to be expected, I over-did-it while in pen and paper stage anyways. :)

toying with the idea of trying to code a variant of my entry on a native Amiga with Blitz Basic 2.1 - just got to get the monitor out of the garage first.  Not sure there'll be too many folk interested in / able to give it a whirl though.....

Yeah, I know most folks are probably thinking its a push to finish a native 'Windows' version. A Windows and an Amiga version, gotta be some browny points for that?  Task1 tomorrow, see if BBasic 2.1 still compiles on the 30-year old Amiga....

Major setback! found a bug in my timing code, having spent the last 3 days going over every function containing timing operation - I'm glad to announce I'm back on track !  phew... :)

@3DzForMe  - the amiga thing sounds totally awesome!

3DzForMe

@alienhead, you've invigorated my resolve to get the 1084S monitor out the garage tomorrow.

You've got timing bugs already to address, Kudos to you  8)

If I get a hello world / universe compiling in BBasic 2.1 tomorrow, on a 30 year old machine.... That'll be a starter for 10  ;) :D

[edit]

My lord, amiga emulators have come on - can anyone beat my time in stunt car racer (online web Amiga emulator:)

Haha wtg,  CRT's FTW !

Yup timing bugs licked,  I'm already into designing maps/lvls stage, about 30% gameplay completed and 60% Ui done.  Luckily for me though, I work at home ( help desk ) so I'm working on the game daily. :)

@ALIENHEAD, sounds like you are well on the way. Hooked up my old Wii to a 33 year old portable telly, 2 x CRTs going with an hour of each other! The scary output from the Wii requires an old style telly.

Not scary... Scart.
