I tested FreeImage. I thought I was going to do everything with BlitzMax. Unfortunately the program leaves longer files when saving in TIFF Fax4 format than e.g. Irfanview by about 15%. So in the end I will have to convert. But no problem. Irfan has a batch mode. But it would be elegant. Irfan converts to 1 bit before saving. Not all programs do that. Neither does BlitzMax. Unless I missed something.

I have no solution for Blitzmax, but when you want to convert the TIFFs and perform batch operations like "Convert to 1bit first", I'd suggest you take a look at the free https://www.xnview.com/en/xnconvert/, it has options for that and is very fast.
Kind regards

Thank you. I know, I have it registered as well as Irfanview. I installed the FreeImage module for BlitzMax. I load the TIFF, threshold it, rotate it, threshold it again, undo the rotation, remove individual unnecessary pixels and now I would like to save it as a TIFF with TIFF Fax4 single-bit compression. And here I have to use Irfan in batch conversion. It would be nice to finish in Max. Unfortunately.
