Hi fielder,

I've been working on a solution to this where you can download all forum topics from the Blitz archive and then use a local or desktop search engine named Regain to get search results with preview text like Google, instead of only a filename result from tools like Everything (Win), Finder (Mac) or gnome-search-tool (Linux).

So I wrote this downloader tool to get the topics but it takes a long time to download them all so I've decided to host pre-downloaded files as I don't think it breaks any copyright laws if I'm not making any profit from it. I'll be uploading the Blitzmax topics very soon, on itch which will have install tips for Regain.

Okay, here it is:
Please take this down!  Site scraping is generally frowned upon and can potentially cause legal problems.  Skid already killed BlitzBasic.com earlier than planned because of people scraping, we don't want him to kill mojolabs as well.

Regardless of the copyright status of the posts themselves, a bunch of people suddenly logging onto his website and downloading large number of files will get noticed.

Set your browser agent to googlebot, slurp, bing... And everybody keeps calm.

Regardless of this: this is only static/archived content. You might even ask one of the users having a full backup already.

I've asked a couple of times and not received a reply. I've taken that as a no. It's not legal to just say "archival purposes" unfortunately. Even sites like way back machine have had to remove sites on request.

I wish I could host them here and be provided with the original database but I highly doubt that's going to happen.

Until the next time.

we can't search the forum (and find results) anyway, so it is useless as it is now...

Seems spiders are allowed. Setup your custom search engine and crawl through the website.

Okay, I removed it.

I just want to be able to search the website and not have to worry about it disappearing. I can't use Regain to index mojolabs.nz, so downloading is my only option.
