Todays price for AGK Studio is £14.94 not too bad and a very good deal. I paid 31.50 a few years ago. The premium offer is the same price with the particle editor and the mega media pack included.

I think I paid the full £70+ when it was first launched. Was a bargain back then considering the hours and hours I've had fun with it. I'd happily pay that again any day of the week for a modern game making BASIC based language. Whilst I can muddle along with C# my brain is definitely wired for BASIC :P

Yes I have spent hundreds of hours with AGK. I think AGK will still be around in ten years time. The Lua is slowly coming along but I know basic quite well ( I get by ). If a new AGK came along it would be awesome. I don't think that is likely to happen but you never know. I also think TGC have ditched it too soon. I'm just getting the hang of things and they pull the plug. I'm thinking Blitz3D was retired years ago but it's still relevant and maybe AGK will stick around for many years to come. Is Blitz max oop or procedural programming or both? I've never used it but I have Blitz3D and this is pretty much what I cut my teeth on with modern PC's along with AGK. I've gone from being rubbish to not too bad over the last 6 years
. This is part due to my own efforts and this forum which has helped me enormously.

£49.20  today with premium download. I would wait for a better day but maybe if I really had to have it there and then I would pay the price. If you are a one man band developer like me then AGK Studio is a good option. I have used AGK for many games from start to finish and so far it has proved to be an excellent choice. If anybody has any questions fire away. I have pretty much stopped asking as many questions as I pretty much know what I need to know for now. The AGK library is huge with over 2000 commands and I am just scratching the surface. They seem to of thought of everything. I use this to write games although I think its probably good for many types of apps and programs. Works great for android too. I have looked at many similar languages and it may be I've spent more time with AGK Studio but I find this system to be good for 2D and 3D games. Business programs and educational software should all be possible. VR is doable with the DLC. If you have picked up a bit of BASIC over the years as I have then this is a good way forward. There are many options out there to choose from and AGK Studio is among the best. I've used Pure BASIC for about a year and I have come to the conclusion that AGK Studio as far as 3D programming goes is better for a few reasons.
1, The shadows were not being displayed in the correct position
2, The Sun glare on the floor
3,  OpenGL is not rendering correctly
4, Height map smoothing, it only does half the job
These things may seem trivial but they all work in AGK Studio.

I have not said this out of malice it is the truth. I purchased Pure BASIC for the full price and these are my findings.

I cannot believe what I have learnt over the 6 1/2 years of first joining this forum. I knew a bit a very small amount of BASIC which I picked up over the years from my zx81 up until now. Anyway this language or what I know of it is imprinted on my brain and it's what I understand and am happy I knew enough to get me going pretty quickly. The first game I wrote with AGK  "Attack by air" is on my itch.io page and it is so bad but a valid attempt at something. Then there was STOS which I liked on the ATARI STe after that nothing until I looked at Visual BASIC around 2005 didn't look for long horrible.
Then here I am but this time did not give up although I did take a year off when the Covid 19 struck. If I hit a problem I would sort it even if it took me a week and asked on the forums. Keep going until you succeed. I have had speed issues with AGK but with optimizing my code it was doing well 45 fps up to 150 fps at it's slowest speed. Cool.  This would depend on the machine being used.
