Well it's the C64 playing the SID in stereo!? 8)

I wonder if they used a channel for left and a different channel for right. to give a stereo effect?

I guess this is possible, because the dont use a SID but a SID simulation. Here you can easily add a PAN parameter which decides to split a tone on two channels.

But this does not mean, that old games now sound like STEREO. This would only affect app, which use this feature i the code.
