I really thought this would never see the light of day so ignored it.  It seems it did eventually get across the finish line.

It didn't take long for a number of these to end up on eBay with over inflated prices.

Seriously over inflated prices :o - Anyone with an ounce of common sense would just wait for the next round of releases.
Mac Studio M4 Max ( 14 core CPU - 32 core GPU ), 32GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD.
Beelink SER7 Mini Gaming PC, Ryzen 7 7840HS 8-Core 16-Thread 5.1GHz Processor, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 2T PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Microsoft Surface Pro 11 ( Snapdragon® X Elite ), 16GB RAM, 512GB SDD.
ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM OLED 240Hz.

Until the next time.

That's just silly money, but plenty of people willing to bid to get one right now!  I agree with Qube, just wait.  I'm sure they'll make an announcement soon.

I think so too it'll go nicely with my C64, my original ZX Spectrum no longer works.   :D

Thanks!  :)  But no thanks lol.  Having backward compatibility to hardware and software for my very first computer is fantastic, but buying a computer today I'd also want a computer I could code on without so many limitations...A computer with a good keyboard, good sound, hardware sprites, hardware scrolling and no colour clash!   ;D

It looks like I'll be getting a Spectrum Next and learning assembly language on that platform.  :)

Although even in BASIC you can move hardware sprites about quick enough.

Adam and Stevie this seems just up your art street!

Yeah, I didn't back it because I didn't think it would come to fruition and wouldn't be to a high standard even if it did.  But now looking at the quality of (even) the box to the keyboard and 300 page manual I'm quite gobsmacked.  The built-in (Next) BASIC has moved on and includes more modern commands for defining Procedures, rather than the old gosubs of the 80's.  There's a Sprite Editor supplied for Next Hardware Sprites in 256 colours and I believe a supplied assembler.  NextDAW for producing sounds and music tracks using a mouse for input (the next has 3 sound chips so you can use up to 9 channels).

Adam, somebody on the Facebook ZX Spectrum Next Forum has just noticed your game on itch.io.  He says:

@Adam, awesome you're game is rightly getting some exposure on the Speccy scene ;)

As for new Speccy hardware - I coded a little on a 14" Ferguson portable back in the day.

Tooo much nostalgia for me though, the furthest back I'm going is Amiga land - via WinUAE mainly, might see if the old Amiga might fire up today though. At least get it out of the damp trailer its currently stored in.....

DON'T TURN IT ON. You will more than likely damage it. It will need time to dry out and the main board checking out for corrosion and leaking capacitors.
Checkout a few YouTube videos on how to do it.
