@Xerra Have you tried out the cc65, oscar64 and llvm-mos C/C++ compilers yet?
If you've dug a hole for yourself, just keep digging. You're bound to come out the other side eventually.

Nope, but i see they some of that stuff is part of what's used to use the C64 gamemaker tool linked elsewhere, so I've got an idea of what they are. To be honest, I'm a long way from doing anything like a full blown game with the work I've done on Kick assembler on the C64 thus far. I watched the first gamemaker video as I was curious about how it worked, as it has its own C-style language, but I was put off by the guy explaining it. I know he's Italian but the narration really started to grind on me so maybe I'll look at the follow on another day.

Kick Assembler itself looks like a fantastic tool, I just need to put more time into it to start getting something decent going. At the moment I've got my head stuffed deep into Gamemaker again as I want to at least get one game completed this year. I left it very late last year so had to settle for something not as big as I would have liked.
