I have no idea how this works on the ZX Next, As i haven't spent anytime studying it. Through disappointment!?

I recently thought, though  ::)

How would you convert normal ZX Games to multi-color? Easily :-\

My thought is run 8 x ZX Spectrums together with the graphics as they are!? But lets say spectrum 0 is black, Spectrum 1 is Blue, Spectrum 2 is Red. And so on.

If one now was to create an editor for each color ZX CPU. ie a sprite editor of sort's. :-X

You now can change any game to multi-color  8)

Each ZX CPU, could be overlaid on to the screen in real time and given a mix of multi color WTF! :o

Baggey,

Not ZX Next specific, but are you aware of...
https://www.habisoft.com/espectrum/EN.htm
&
https://github.com/raydac/zxpoly

They may offer you some insight/inspiration for 16/256 colour enhancement.

Well just get yourself a Next or a N-Go clone. It's fantastic to code for.

I have 2 x 2mb NEXT accelerated's. One is still in the box :-X

I find the 128K style basic user interface terrible to use. It's not as good as the Standard 48k ROM enviroment. They missed out on using 60 column and 80 column text.

This could of been 48K basic style IDE. With the extend column's as permanent text interface. And used all the new ZX NEXT commands from within the 48K basic tokeniser :'(

Kind Regards Baggey

Hmmm. Here's a good place to get a feel for things. it covers interpreters, tokens, etc. NOT for the beginner. Pst. You're not a beginner ;)

What would be my thoughts?
1. complex subject - big rabbit hole, very rewarding.
2. have a basic idea. E.G. write a parser for shts and giggles...
3. start with the basics - you'll need some way to get text into a string. suggest writing an input system, which would require keyboard tracking, etc

How could I see 'you' progressing.
Hmmm. take the spectrum concept and write s mini spectrum system. E.G. command line system.
