Hey that is cool good to see Elite on the BBC made it on there . Didn't know it was a British game but glad it was as it was my favorite game of all time . I wonder if you can go to the post office  and just buy a pack of the stamps at face value . I've got to go there on Wednesday anyway so I'll ask . Bonjour

I would've like to have seen Jet Pac on the ZXSpectrum, ah yes, that was a game.

Yes I had Jetpack and cookie amongst others . most weeks I'd buy 1 or 2 games thinking they would be fantastic by the picture on the cover. Could never really tell what you were getting until you loaded it up . All part of the fun . Some were good others not so . Was thinking of releasing a greatest hits CD on ebay for a couple of quid with all my games on it . Has anybody tried this and if so did you get any orders ? I've got 11 games to put on it . what do you think ? Was thinking 2.50 a disk including postage and packaging . Should make a quid out of it .

I've never collected stamps but something like this is probably what would kick-start me. It'll probably be a hundred years or so before these are actually worth anything so it's probably an investment to be passed three generations or so. My nephew would probably just throw them away at some point, or stick them on a flippin' letter

The games that go on these stamps must have taken some time to be decided. And everyone is going to argue with the ones that haven't been included that they consider worthy.

Elite is a shoe-in for me and Wipeout 2097 was by far the better game to feature instead of the original. Lemmings probably earns its place despite me not liking it much but I can definitely take or leave Tomb Raider in all honesty. Not that I don't like the original game - the dino appearing on the 3rd level by surprise is one of my greatest ever gaming moments - but I just think there are more defining games that came earlier.

Personally, if it was a stamp set I was creating just for myself, I'd have put in something like this:

Jeff Minters Matrix,
Envahi,
Elite,
Kickstart,
Grand Theft Auto,
Wipeout 2097,
Ridge Racer,
Tekken

These games all amazed me when I first saw them because they broke new ground being either original games that have since been cloned to death, or did something amazing with an older idea on a new platform. Kickstart might seem an odd entry in there but it was the first time I'd seen what was basically a platform game done with vehicles and also split-screen so you could play with a mate on the other joystick. Pitstop II had done it previously but that was just another - admittedly very, very good - racing game.

Ahh yes, the icnic @RRRrrrridgge RRRRracer!!!!' Thatwas an iconic power sliding Gem of a game, even on the PS2
